Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola celebrated its 125th anniversary via an integrated marketing campaign. The global retro campaign played on the heritage of the Coca-Cola brand and ran in more than 200 countries around the globe. Over the years, the company’s marketing efforts have been at the forefront of advertising trends, such as leveraging celebrity endorsement and most recently using 3D computer graphics.

DHL
DHL introduced its ‘Excellence. Simply delivered.’ strap line last year via a global campaign. Instead of featuring typical executions that focused on delivery trucks and airplanes it tapped into the utility of its brand and showed how it is changing the lives of people around the world on a daily basis, focusing on life science, energy and technology.

HSBC
HSBC has found much success with pan-regional media and in 2010 it continued its relationship with the industry. The financial brand continued its partnership with CNBC for the ‘Alternative Investing’ series which earned it an M&M Award last year. It was also one of four advertisers to first feature on the beta version of Google Maps with sponsored company logos.

Microsoft
Despite the news that Mich Mathews was stepping down from her role in leading global marketing at Microsoft, the technology giant’s marketing went from strength-to-strength this year. Whether it was taking on Apple with the launch of its Windows Phone 7 or tackling Google with its executions for Bing. However, Microsoft made its biggest mark with its work for the Xbox Kinect around the globe.

Rolex
The luxury watch brand has long been a mainstay of pan-regional media and still continues to work with traditional players while utilising digital platforms as well. This year Rolex continued to innovate by putting its ads in the hands of consumers by allowing them to personalise ads for the ‘Handmade’ issue of Wallpaper.
